SEND IASS - what we do

An overview of our service and the help we can offer.

SEND - a service for those living or working with young people between 0 to 25 years with special educational needs and disabilities.

Information - providing information established by SEND Law and practices, as well as local knowledge and signposting.

Advice - providing impartial advice on what steps to take in the areas of Education, Health and Social Care.

Support - providing confidential, individualised support to empower those who seek our assistance.

What you can expect from us

Information, advice and support (IAS) minimum standards - these are based on the requirements relating to support that IAS services must provide, as set out in SEND Law and on additional legal advice commissioned by the IAS Network.

Information, advice and support service (IASS) network - the IASSN are funded by the Department for Education to support the provision of IAS services in every local authority.

Council For Disabled Children (CDC) - the CDC are the umbrella body for the disabled children's sector bringing together professionals, practitioners and policy-makers.

Our Support Statement - we have created a document which explained who we are, and what our service users can reasonably expect from SEND IASS.
