Councillor Barry Woodhouse

Councillor Barry Woodhouse continuously served as a Billingham Councillor since 1987, a governor on Low Grange Infants School (Now Oakdene Primary) since 1978 and is Vice-Chair of the Governing Body, and a founder Member of Billingham Regeneration Partnership (Now Northern Locality Forum) since 2001, and Vice-Chair of the Forum. Elected Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees 1998 to1999.

I have held positions of responsibility Chairing Environment Committee, Licensing Committee, Personnel Committee and latterly Audit Committee. I was also Cabinet Member for Environment and Cabinet Member for North Borough following restructuring of the Council.

I have also Chaired Cleveland Fire Authority and Billingham Regeneration Partnership.

As well as speaking in Parliamentary Select Committee in the past I have represented the Council on the following Outside Bodies: Tees Port Health Authority, Regional Environment Protection Agency Committee (REPAC), Tees Valley Waste Management Group (Chair), National Society for Clean Air, Keep Britain Tidy Group, North of England Regional Assembly, City Challenge Civic Arts Panel, Tees Valley Environmental Protection Group, Local Government Association.
