Regulatory Services Enforcement Policy

9. Appeals against enforcement action

9.1 For certain types of enforcement action there exists a statutory appeal system. The offender will be informed of these mechanisms, where appropriate. However, in all cases the offender has the right to appeal directly to SBC. The matter will then be considered in accordance with the prevailing corporate complaints procedure.

9.2 Please note that the corporate complaints procedure cannot be used to determine whether or not an offence has been committed and legal proceedings will not normally be suspended whilst a complaint is investigated, the legal process takes precedence.
