4 August 2023

On Monday I attended the People Select Committee. A busy agenda included an overview of reports on the Council's community services, environment and culture and finance, development and regeneration areas, as well as an update on the Select Committee Work Programme for 2023 to 2024.

On Tuesday morning, I had my regular catch up with Mike Greene, Chief Executive, and Councillor Lisa Evans, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Children and Young People. It is always useful to touch base with our chief executive and deputy leader, and we cover a variety of key Council actions in our catch ups.

This catch up then continued into a meeting with Councillor Lisa Evans to discuss regeneration and business updates from across Stockton-on-Tees.

Mid-week I had a portfolio briefing with updates on topics including housing, finance, development and regeneration from various Council directors and assistant directors. I then attended a meeting regarding the scrutiny review of the cost of living response with other senior colleagues.

On Thursday, I joined a ministerial webinar about next steps for the Afghan resettlement hotel closures and plans for accommodation moving forwards.

Today I am taking advantage of a quieter day to catch up with important paperwork and other items.

I'm looking forward to ending the week with a nice weekend spending some quality time with my family.
