This week started with the regular meeting of the Tees Valley Leaders, where Leaders from across the Tees Valley can come together to discuss things on a regional level.

On Monday afternoon myself, Chief Executive Mike Greene, Cabinet Member for Access, Communities and Community Safety Norma Stephenson, and Assistant Director for Housing and A Fairer Stockton-on-Tees Jane Edmends, met to discuss how we support Asylum seekers locally and regionally. Immediately after we had an informal meeting of Cabinet.

On Tuesday there was a member's briefing from our Chief Executive, and also from our Highways and our Public Health services.

Mid-week was our Health and Wellbeing Board, which I Chair. At this meeting we discuss the various needs of our Borough when it comes to health, and discuss whether we're adequately meeting our residents' needs.

Yesterday was a quiet day which I took advantage of to catch up on emails and paperwork. I'd like to take the opportunity to mention that if you have a spare 10 minutes, please complete our residents' survey. It's open now and the responses will influence how we provide Council services in the Borough.

Today I have a briefing with our team from the Finance Team as well as other various ward-based meetings.

This weekend I look forward to spending some relaxing time with my family. Middlesbrough finally got their first league win last weekend, followed by a confident win in the Carabao Cup against Bradford mid-week. I hope they'll keep up this momentum against Watford - another struggling side - and get a further 3 points in the books.
