Hartburn Avenue and Hartburn Lane proposed junction improvements
A proposed scheme to introduce traffic signals on the junction between Hartburn Avenue and Hartburn Lane.
This scheme has been developed in response to several reported road traffic collisions over recent years which have caused injuries.
The project involves significant engineering measures to overcome road safety concerns including the realignment of the junction which will be controlled with traffic signals.
Additionally, the project will include the introduction of a pedestrian crossing to provide a safer crossing option.
This approach is necessary to improve the safety of motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.
To complete these works, it will be necessary to remove five mature trees from the junction. These will be replaced with younger trees once the scheme is complete. To respect bird nesting season, tree removal is planned for February 2024, with the main junction works commencing in Summer 2024.
