What are school's duties?

Schools must use their "best endeavours" to ensure all children with SEN get the support they need. (Section 66 of the Children and Families Act 2014)

Schools must make "reasonable adjustments" to support disabled children in accessing their education. (Section 20 of the Equality Act 2010)

The SEND Code of Practice (2014) is a statutory guidance that informs schools and organisations on how to put SEND law into practice.
