Enjoy the great outdoors with the Love Exploring App's free virtual adventures

The Love Exploring App is back with a yearlong calendar of exciting virtual adventures.

People of all ages can download the free online tool and play 'augmented' reality games, solve quizzes, and explore nature and heritage in a series of mapped virtual trails across Stockton-on-Tees.

What can be played on the app?

From March 28, residents can walk with dinosaurs and uncover little-known facts about the prehistoric species.

Throughout the year, the following themes will go live for people to enjoy:

May 24 - Mega mini beasts

July 24 - Tree fairies

August 14 - Butterflies and moths

October 17 - Halloween dancers

November 29 - Winter fairies

Heritage, nature, and mindfulness trails, which can help benefit the physical and mental health of Stockton-on-Tees residents, will also be available all year round.

Where can the app be used?

The app can be used in the following locations:

Parks -Wynyard Woodland Park, Victoria Park, Ropner Park, John Whitehead Park, Littleboy Park, Preston Park Museum and Grounds

High streets -Stockton High Street, Norton High Street, Yarm High Street, Wellington Square

Why should we give the Love Exploring App a try?

Reuben Kench, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Director for Community Services, Environment and Culture, said: "Love Exploring is the perfect tool to explore the great outdoors as the weather gets brighter and the days get longer.

"Children and young people, adults and the older generation can enjoy rediscovering their local area with the app, too.

"There's both beautiful parks and bustling high streets on our doorstep and the Love Exploring app offers an exciting way to improve fitness and have fun this Easter, throughout May and beyond.

Where can the app be download?

To take part, download the 'Love Exploring app' on a phone or tablet from the Apple or Google Play stores. Open up the app in the approved locations and play games, quizzes and follow the mapped virtual trails.
