SEND Local Offer Annual Report 2023 to 2024

As part of a review of digital services in Stockton-on-Tees in 2023-24, the Local Offer was relaunched on the GOSS platform in February 2024. This incorporated a new structure and design based on feedback gathered from stakeholders including families and young people, professionals working with young people with SEND and updated accessibility policy relating for digital platforms and documents.

The new design aimed to create an accessible platform with easy to find information and improved user experience.

In June 2024, a second phase of redevelopment was launched to further review the content of the Local Offer. Working collaboratively with key partners in health, social care and SEND, each page of the updated structure was refreshed to ensure that content was up to date with current services. This second phase of redevelopment focused on embedding clear processes for content updates and gathering and acting on feedback.

By the end of 2024 the content review was complete. Looking to 2025 the next phase of development will focus on increasing engagement with the Local Offer across Stockton-on-Tees. By building a communications plan which will integrate building awareness of the Local Offer with the SEND communication strategy the Council aims to increase engagement with the Local Offer for both families and professionals supporting children and young people with SEND.
