Yarm Town Hall

The Council has worked in partnership with Yarm Town Council to deliver the refurbishment of Yarm Town Hall.

Yarm Town Hall has been refurbished into Yarm Town Hall Heritage Centre, showcasing 'Island in a River'.  This is a permanent exhibition, inspired by the history of one of the most outstanding scenic towns in the region.

The exhibition has been created by artist Matthew Rosier and celebrates Yarm's ancient connection to the River Tees and location on the horseshoe bend of the river.

This has also been made possible from funding from the Government's Levelling Up Fund.

Refurbishment of Yarm Town Hall

Yarm Town Hall underwent a full external restoration to include the opening-up and reintatement of its original brick arches with new glazing.

It is the first time in over 100 years that the arches have been reopened in the Grade II listed building.

The work also included a repainted clock tower and the restoration of the original weather vane on the hall's roof.

The external refurbishment of Yarm Town Hall was complete in September 2023.
