Healthy weight and physical activity

Healthy eating

Healthy eating plays an important role in our health and wellbeing. Ensuring we have a balanced diet can improve outcomes for a range of health issues including decreasing your likelihood of cardiovascular disease and improving mental wellbeing.

There is a range of advice on healthy eating and physical activity on the NHS Live Well website

Physical activity

Physical activity is an essential building block for living a healthy life. Physical activity can improve mental wellbeing, reduce stress, increase fitness and be a great way to meet new people. With growing rates of obesity across all ages it is more important than ever to increase the number of people who are physically active. Please see the recommended physical activity guidelines for children and adults on the NHS Live Well website.

There is a wide variety of physical activity opportunities for all groups and ages across the whole of the Borough:
