Accessing Council services online is now "easier than ever before".

That's the view as Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council launches its brand new website today (February 28).

There'll be 150 online self-serve processes for services such as Council Tax, Care for your Area and Licensing, with more still to come.

As well as being available on your phone, tablet or desktop, the new site has also been designed to be as accessible as possible to everyone, including people who may use assistive technology.

Here's what you can expect.

Tailored information on bin collections, planning applications and more

The website includes an option to register for a "My Council" account, which offers tailored information on things like bin collections, ward councillors and planning applications.

The My Council account gives you secure access to online Council services and to track the progress of your online requests .

You'll also be able to book services like getting a slot at the Haverton Hill Household Waste and Recycling Centre.

Any website forms that need to be completed will be pre-populated where possible to save you time.

Sign up for a brand new e-newsletter too!

You can also keep up with the latest news across the Borough with the Council's e-newsletter.

What do Councillors think?

Councillor Steve Nelson, the Council's Cabinet Member for Access, Communities and Community Safety, said: "It's great to have the new website up and running, which means it's now easier than ever before to get access to the Council services you need.

"I'd strongly recommend signing up to My Council, which will help you keep up to speed with everything you need to know and ensure you're getting the most out of the new site.

"And the new e-newsletter is an exciting addition which will bring you the latest news from across our Borough.

"The website is certainly user-friendly and has a range of accessibility features to make sure as many people as possible can access it easily."
