Friday 29 July

I took advantage of quieter days in the diary on Monday and Tuesday to catch-up on some important Council paperwork.

Leaders and elected Mayors of authorities across the Tees Valley met on Wednesday on Microsoft Teams. There were a few items on the agenda, including an update on Covid-19 and more general updates from the Leaders and Mayors.

This was then immediately followed by a Health and Wellbeing Board meeting, which took place in person. There was a busy agenda, with the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2022, Covid-19 and an update on tobacco control amongst the items discussed.

Today I have attended a meeting held by the North East Regional Employers' Organisation (NEREO), who provide support to local authorities across the country.

This was then followed by the Special Interest Group of Municipal Authorities (SIGOMA) annual meeting, which was held online via Microsoft Teams.

At the weekend I am looking forward to spending time with my family and also watching Middlesbrough take on West Bromwich Albion. The first game of the season is always exciting and it would be great to start off with a win against a team likely to rival Boro for promotion.
