Great North Park
Stretching from Ragworth in the west to Tilery in the east, Great North Park is made up of several green spaces including Norton Grange Marsh, Primrose Hill Park and Tilery Park.
Great North Park is a haven for wildlife in an urban setting that provides easy access to grassland rich with wildflowers, woodland, wetland and riverside. This provides opportunities to spot something all year from winter birds visiting us from northern Europe such as redwings, to bright spring flowers, such as cowslips and from summer butterflies such as red admirals to autumn fungi in woodland that love the damp conditions.
National Cycle Network route 1 runs through the heart of the Great North Park, making it easy to walk or cycle between the various green spaces. Some of that cycle routes follows the course of a former railway, which once continued eastwards through Portrack and on to Haverton Hill.
Accessibility
The park has some good surfaced paths. There are no toilets or designated disabled parking.
