Ever considered fostering? Come along to this information event
Anybody interested in fostering a child is encouraged to attend an information event organised by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.
The Council's fostering team are holding the event from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday, November 27, at Stockton Central Library.
Councillor Ann McCoy, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "To ensure a child has a safe, healthy and happy childhood, which allows him or her to develop to their full potential, is hugely rewarding. We urgently need more people with the drive and determination to rise to the challenge.
"The Council recruits foster carers from a variety of backgrounds so children can be matched with the most suitable families. I would encourage anybody who is interested to come along to our event or make an enquiry."
Foster carers get professional preparation training, ongoing guidance and access to local support groups. They also receive a generous allowance to cover weekly costs.
To reserve a place at the event or for more information about fostering, call the Children's Fostering and Carers' Team on 01642 526218 or visit Fostering.
