Harry Potter, Go Climb! and Air Trail: 6 activities to enjoy this half-term

Councillor Jim Beall, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Health, Leisure and Culture, said: "Whether you are a Harry Potter fan, enjoy an outdoor adventure or more daring activities like the High Ropes climbing course, there's plenty going on this half-term that will keep families of all interests and ages entertained. These six ideas are just a handful of activities on offer but there are many more, including low-cost and free events, to give your children a special treat. Ordinary Wizarding Levels: an interactive Harry Potter quiz
Imagination Station, Thornaby Central Library
3-4pm, Thursday 20 February
Calling all Muggles! Do you know your Bowtruckle from your Boggart? Drop into the Imagination Station at Thornaby Central Library and test your Harry Potter knowledge at this exciting quiz. Entry is free of charge and all participants will receive a certificate of commendation. Ordinary Wizarding Levels is part of a programme of library events. Out and About in Stockton-on-Tees

Enjoy the great outdoors this half-term and visit some of the many parks, nature reserves, woodlands and green spaces across the Borough. Take in the local wildlife, enjoy watersports on the River Tees, or a leisurely walk. Explorer School
Preston Park Museum & Grounds
From 11am, Saturday 15 and Saturday 22 February
Led by Preston Park museum's resident performing arts students, this fun interactive session is perfect for little explorers to discover the skills needed to be a true adventurer. Guests can also visit the Museum upstairs to find out about real-life local explorers and the discoveries they made on their travels. Suitable for ages four and above. Oh No, George! is the delightfully playful tale of a dog who wants to be good but just can't resist temptation. Adapted from the award-winning picture book by Chris Haughton, this new show for children and their families uses acrobatics, slapstick comedy and live music to bring George's chaotic and joyful escapades to life. Go Climb

This colourful jungle of climbing walls boasts 21 unique and exciting walls, each showcasing their own design with themes like Tetris, a frozen castle, snakes and ladders and an electrifying lightning bolt. Go Climb also offers a 22ft vertical plunge slide, a daring leap of faith challenge and a dizzying spiral of rising towers. 'Quiet Climb' sessions for children with autism and other special educational needs are also available. Suitable for ages four and above. Family members of all ages can challenge themselves to scale the heights at the thrilling high ropes course alongside the River Tees. Cross a range of wobbly rope bridges, tight ropes, cargo nets, balancing beams, and swinging stepping stones. Take on the mighty 'walk the plank' challenge, then whizz along two full-length zip wires to complete a high-flying mission. There's also adventures to be found for smaller explorers with the Air Tykes course which sits directly underneath the main structure.
