Have your say on Publication Draft Local Plan Consultation

11 October 2017

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is reminding people there is still time to get in touch with their views about the Publication Draft Local Plan.

The draft plan sets out a vision for the future development of Stockton-on-Tees Borough in relation to things such as housing, the economy, community facilities and infrastructure up to 2032.

The six-week public consultation will close on Monday, 6 November 2017. During the consultation period a number of drop-in sessions will be held throughout Stockton-on-Tees, as follows:

  • Tuesday, 17 October at Stockton Central Library from 4pm to 7pm
  • Thursday, 19 October at Billingham Library from 4pm to 7pm
  • Tuesday, 24 October at Yarm Library from 4pm to 7pm
  • Thursday, 26 October at Thornaby Central Library from 4pm to 7pm
  • Wednesday, 1 November at Norton Library from 4pm to 7pm
  • Thursday, 2 November at Ingleby Barwick Library from 4pm to 7pm

Councillor Bob Cook, Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said: "There is still plenty of time to have your say about the Publication Draft Local Plan.  I would urge people to get involved in this consultation because when adopted, the Local Plan will be the starting point for consideration of planning applications for the development of land.

"We want to have a Local Plan in place to put us in a strong position to manage future development, deliver our priorities for the Borough and make Stockton-on-Tees a great place to live and work."

Copies of the Publication Draft Local Plan are available to view in all Stockton-on-Tees libraries. Consultation forms are also available in branch libraries for people to complete and return.
