Love Exploring
Love Exploring is an augmented reality app available on smart phone and tablet.
The app allows you to play games and explore trails at the following parks:
- Littleboy Park
- Billingham Beck Country Park
- Preston Park Museum & Grounds
- Ropner Park
- Wynyard Woodland Park
To play, download the Love Exploring app for free from the Apple store or Google Play store onto your smart phone or tablet. Once downloaded, go to one of the participating parks, open the app and start exploring.
Love exploring at Wellington Square
Open the app in Stockton Town Centre's Wellington Square this September to enjoy games, quizzes, and trails with the app's augmented reality characters.
Discover life-size Dinosaurs on September 1 and return to Wellington Square weekly to discover mega mini beasts, tree fairies and space shuttles before all themes are available from Saturday 23 September.
There'll also be a competition explorers can take part in. Tag Wellington Square in a photo of you and the little ones on social media to be in with a chance of winning a £25 voucher to spend in shops.

Guided trails
A series of trails can be accessed on the app which are designed to help explorers to rediscover the local area. Trails include:
Preston Park's Mindfulness Trail:
Preston Park Museum and Grounds, Yarm Road, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 3RH. Explore mindfulness in nature with poetic prompts and guidance as you follow the trail. This is best experienced through headphones.
Ropner Park's Heritage Trail:
Ropner Park, Hartburn Lane, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 4EF. This trail highlights the original features found in Ropner Park and shows how they have changed over the years. Along the way, you will see and learn about the history of the Ropner Park owl, open-air theatre, park, bandstand, and many other features.
Stockton High Street's Heritage Trail:
Stockton High Street, TS18 1BW. This trail allows you to explore the widest high street in the UK. On the app, you will see historic photographs of buildings that stand before you on the high street, accompanied by facts that appear onscreen.
Littleboy Park's Nature Trail:
Littleboy Park, Acklam Rd, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees, TS17 7EH. The trail starts at the main car park then continues past the play area, football pitch, tennis courts and finishes at the bowls club.
Billingham Beck Valley Country Park's Nature Trail:
Billingham Beck Valley Country Park, Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees, TS23 1PB. This trail allows you to explore the Ecology Park Pond, becks, and woodland.
Wynyard Woodland Park's Nature Trails - The Grindon Loop:
Wynyard Woodland Park, Wynyard, Stockton-on-Tees, TS21 3JG. This trail takes you through woodland and farmland on tracks. On route, you will come across the visitor's centre, bridges, and wildlife ponds.
