The current boundaries are being reviewed by the national independent body to ensure each councillor represents about the same number of electors.

An initial 11-week consultation was held by the LGBCE from October 2020 until January 2021 and this was followed by another consultation period from May 2021 until July 2021.

The LGBCE is now asking for views on new proposals, before a full set of final recommendations for Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council will be published in March 2022.

The focus of the new proposals is on the following ward boundaries:

  • Bishopsgarth & Elm Tree
  • Newtown
  • Fairfield
  • Grangefield
  • Ingleby Barwick West
  • Ingleby Barwick East
  • Ingleby Barwick South
  • Yarm
  • Southern Parishes

There are also proposals for Ingleby Barwick Town Council and Maltby Parish Council.

The consultation is open until Monday, January 10 2022.

You can email reviews@lgbce.org.uk or write to The Review Officer (Stockton-on-Tees), LGBCE, PO Box 133, Blyth, NE24 9FE.
