The week-long programme runs from Monday 7 August to Friday 11 August between 10am and 4pm each day, with a 'Learning Lunch' provided, and is based at Stockton Business Centre on Brunswick Street.

The course will introduce up to 15 participants to every aspect of business including generating ideas, marketing, digital skills, book-keeping and look at start up opportunities within the Borough.

At the end of the week, participants will get the chance to show their new skills with a special 'Make Your Pitch' exercise to a panel of local business leaders - with the Business Start Up Prize Pot up for grabs!

Councillor Nigel Cooke, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Housing, said: "This is a superb scheme on offer to young people living within our Borough who have a keen interest in business and want to know more about how they can get started.

"It is a great chance to meet like-minded people and start out on the road to turn ideas and ambitions into reality. I'd encourage anyone aged between 16 and 25 who thinks their future may lie in the world of business to give this a go and we may well see our future business leaders taking their first steps toward success."

The course is completely free of charge and available to all Stockton Borough residents aged between 16 and 25. A specific business idea is not required but a passion for business and a drive to become your own boss is essential.

Upon completion, there is an option for participants to receive free follow-on support from a range of experts and enterprise agencies across the Borough as well as accessing free test-trading opportunities throughout the year such as market stalls and pop-up shops.
