Stockton Borough's Apprentice of the Year
The 2017 Stockton-on-Tees Apprentice of the Year has been crowned.
22 year old Chelsea Daly won the accolade at an awards ceremony hosted by former Middlesbrough Football Club player, Neil Maddison.
Chelsea's apprenticeship is in Supporting Teaching and Learning and she currently works at St Mary's CE Primary School in Long Newton where she is a valued member of the team.
Headteacher, David Moorfoot, said: "Chelsea is enthusiastic, committed, very hard working and shows initiative.
"She is a credit to the apprenticeship programme, the school, her family and herself - she is absolutely brilliant."
The following apprentices were also named Outstanding Achievers:
• Leadership and Management - Lesley Harrison
• Supporting Teaching and Learning - Julie Thomas
• Health and Social Care - Natalie Thomas
• Customer Service - Caites Nendick
• Children and Young People's Workforce - Holly Robson
• Team Leading - Pauline Whitfield
• Business and Administration - Mandy Powers
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, Councillor Nigel Cooke, said: "Congratulations to all of our apprentices who are working so hard and adding a huge amount of value to workplaces across the Borough. I wish them all every success with their future careers.
"Apprenticeships benefit both the apprentice and their employer by giving individuals an opportunity to develop the skills they will need for a successful career while allowing businesses to train their workforce in a way which will best suit the future success of their organisation."
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Learning and Skills Service organised the event to promote apprenticeships and celebrate achievements of the Borough's apprentices.
