Are your voter registration details correct? Look out for these important letters

The information is vital to ensure that everyone entitled to vote is registered in time for the Local Elections on 2 May. Residents can also request a postal vote if they would find this more convenient than going to a polling station.

If all of the information on the form is correct, no further action is necessary.

Councillor Bob Cook, Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said: "I would urge all households to take the time to review the current information listed for their address so nobody misses out on voting.

"It's very important for anyone who has recently moved house to see if their name is on the letter and check all details are correct. If you notice any errors you must amend them online or call us as soon as possible."

Anybody who needs adding to the register can do so at Elections and voting Although they cannot vote until they're 18, young people who have turned 16 can also be added. Registration requires people to provide their date of birth and National Insurance number.
