More than 25 voluntary and charity organisations will fill a marquee on Stockton High Street when Volunteers' Market returns on Friday (June 2).

The annual market showcases the range of volunteering opportunities available across the Stockton-on-Tees Borough.

And anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can visit the marquee between 10am and 3pm.

The free event also includes fun activities, like bird feeder and origami frog making, a feely box, colouring station and chance to do litter picking or a guided walk.

Refreshments will also be available inside the marquee from The Lighthouse Centre.

Councillor Bob Cook, Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said: "The Volunteers' Market is always a really popular event and it shows off the array of volunteering opportunities on offer across the Borough.

"So whether you're a seasoned volunteer or looking to get involved for the first time, come along on Friday to see what sort of activities you can get involved in.

"Volunteering is a really rewarding thing to take part in and can help you meet new people, gain new skills and get a real feeling of satisfaction!"

Jon Carling, Chief Executive of Catalyst, said: "This event is a fitting way to mark National Volunteers' Week and it's great to have so many different voluntary and charity organisations signed up to be part of the market.

"The work volunteers do across Stockton-on-Tees is truly amazing - and hopefully this year's market can encourage even more people to get involved."

The Volunteers' Market is organised by Catalyst and supported by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.

Catalyst provides support to over 300 organisations in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Stockton-on-Tees. Find out more on the Catalyst website.
