Between 10am and 4pm, more than 20 unique traders selling sci-fi, TV and film related toys, action figures, collectables and refreshments will fill the High Street marquee.

Along with the chance to snap up memorabilia, families and visitors of all ages can enjoy a packed day of displays and character appearances including:

  • Star Wars characters from 99th Garrison
  • Harry Potter
  • The Daleks
  • An Ice Dragon
  • Elsa, Anna, Bumble Bee, Captain Marvel, Hulk, Iron Man and more!

There will also be a chance to watch a demonstration by professional model maker, Gary Pollard, who has designed creatures for Harry Potter, Star Wars, Game of Thrones and Doctor Who.

Councillor Jim Beall, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Health, Leisure and Culture, said: "Now in its fifth year, Kapow is the region's only free sci-fi event of its kind and this year's programme is fantastic.

"Whether you are a sci-fi fan or not, there is plenty to see and do so it's sure to be a memorable, fun day for families and people of all ages.

"It's also a great opportunity to pop in for a coffee or a bite to eat at one of the town's cafes or restaurants, and why not browse the range of high quality independent shops that are unique to Stockton."

The Council and Stockton BID have linked up with Who-ray! on Silver Street,  Macks Solicitors and Watson Woodhouse Solicitors to put on Kapow.

Martin Shipley, owner of Who-ray! and one of the event organisers, said: "Kapow never disappoints and this year's event will be no exception.

"There'll be plenty of stalls to browse in the High Street marquee and a whole host of free special activities are planned too.  You can meet your favourite characters and even design your own monster.

"It's not to be missed - make sure you come down and enjoy the day with us."
