The school was inspected over two days in October when its curriculum, pupils' experience and safeguarding were just some of the aspects put under the spotlight.

There were positive findings across the board for the school which also rated as "good" in its previous inspection in 2012.

What did the inspectors find?

The school's overall effectiveness, quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years provision were all rated as "good."

The inspectors' report particularly praised how well pupils with special educational needs or disabilities are supported with precise targets and support for their learning.

Leaders know the needs of their pupils and families well and it was recognised they "worked hard to develop their curriculum to reflect this."

Pupils clearly enjoy going to school and the Ofsted visitors were impressed at how proud they were of their work, the children even checked that inspectors had seen their books!

What do the school and Council think?

Eddie Huntington, Headteacher, said: "We were always confident from the hard work we see every day from pupils and staff that we'd be recognised as a 'good' school.

"The inspection was rigorous and fair but as I expected the whole Rosebrook community pulled together and were able to show how wonderful they really are.

"We're pleased the report acknowledges the way our curriculum responds not only to national interests but also the very specific needs of the Roseworth community.

"The pupils really enjoyed having Ofsted visit the school and it was brilliant to see many of them so eager to make sure the inspectors had looked at their work."

Councillor Jim Beall, Chair of Governors, said: "A huge amount of work goes into the school's curriculum, pupils' experience and safeguarding measures.

"This inspection is one of the very first under Ofsted's new tougher testing framework so we are particularly pleased to have achieved a "good" rating.

"I'm delighted that all of the staff, supportive parents and carers, governors and, not least, the children's efforts have been rewarded.

"Our focus for the future will be to continue this work and ensure we provide our children with a great platform to learn."

Councillor Lisa Evans, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "I'd like to congratulate all of the pupils, staff and everyone connected with Rosebrook on this fantastic Ofsted rating.

"I'm sure it's a proud moment for them and I am very pleased to see the school continuing to offer a good education in a welcoming and supportive environment."
