Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council appoints new Managing Director
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has formally appointed Julie Danks as its new Managing Director.
Ms Danks, who has been the Council's Interim Managing Director since May, was appointed to the role at last night's (September 25) meeting of the Full Council.
She has served the Council for more than 30 years, rising through the ranks since starting as an Accounting Technician in 1988.
She became Assistant Director of Finance in 1999, Corporate Director of Resources in 2003 and Deputy Chief Executive in 2016.
The Council's Leader, Councillor Bob Cook, said: "Julie brings vast knowledge and experience to the role.
"She knows the organisation and the Borough inside out and her background in local government finance will be invaluable in the years ahead.
"I'm sure she'll continue to be a great success in helping us drive forward our ambitions across the Borough."
Ms Danks added: "I'm delighted to take on this new role at such an exciting time. We are working up big plans for all of our towns and continuing to develop our care services for children and adults.
"I have the great privilege of leading a dedicated workforce, who are committed to delivering great services for our residents and businesses every single day of the year.
"We're also very lucky here at the Council to have some great partners and I'm looking forward to working with them all for the benefit of the Borough."
