Thornaby John Walkers walk, river and rail, family walk instructions

Starting at The Last Post on Cranworth Street, head west and follow the footpath to the left and then right towards Mansfield Avenue until you get to Acklam Road.

Cross over at the drop kerb crossing and join the footpath as it bends to the left. Follow the signs for Teesside Park. Stay on Teesside Park Drive for approximately one mile, with the A66 on your left-hand side and Teesside Golf Club to the right.

The path bends to the right and then left as you near the busy Teesside Park main road.

Navigate the traffic and crossings as you follow the roundabout to the left and head back in the direction you came on the other side of the road.

Follow the road away from Teesside Park and carefully cross at the lights until you are heading towards Tees Barrage on The Viaduct.

Stay on the right side and follow the road to the left around the roundabout and then drop down on to the walkway to the right just after Tees Barrage Way.

Head towards the River and Tees Barrage and turn to the left.

Follow South Tees Cycle way along the riverside for approximately half a mile until you reach Infinity Bridge.

Turn left onto Harvard Avenue and go straight across at the roundabout.

Head right onto Station Street and cross the road. At the Railway bridge cross over the tracks, down the steps and head towards Thornaby Town Hall.

Turn left onto Mandale Road and cross at the pedestrian crossing. Cross over George Street and then head to the right on Westbury Street.

Turn left onto Cranworth Street and arrive back at The Last Post.
